Heavy roots. Rock'n'reel. Country music
from many countries. Punk-folk. These are some of the ways to
describe this band. Try this: fiddle, guitar, bass, drums.
These are the building blocks of BOILED
IN LEAD's sound. Instrumental dance tunes incorporate global
influences, rhythms, and melodies that are
sure to keep the feet moving. Rockin' original songs stick in
the mind long after the music is over.
No two BOILED IN LEAD shows are
ever the same. The players improvise freely yet stay in sync,
playing a vital mix of original and traditional material that
sounds fresh and highly identifiable. Years before the

"unplugged" trend, BOILED
IN LEAD played all-acoustic sets at McCabe's in Los Angeles
and the Mean Fiddler in London; but it's their
electro-acoustic sets at the Reading Rock Festival and the Winnipeg
Folk Festival that really showcase their strength. The group
and the individual musicians have won over 18 Minnesota Music
Awards, including "Album of the Year" for From The
Ladle to the Grave, "World Music Album of the Year"
for Antler Dance and "World Folk Group of the Year"
in 1993 and 1995.
Enthusiastic, powerful, technically brilliant,
playing a wealth of instruments, electric and acoustic, BOILED
IN LEAD routinely blows away preconceptions about rock'n'roll
alternatives.
